舞台は海にほど近い田舎町、土岐島市。
主人公・小川葵はいつもと同じように過ごしていた。

平凡な風景の中にそびえ立つ、超高層建築物「ツリー」。

30年前に突如現れ、にわかに全国を騒がせたそれも、今やただ寂れた観光資源に過ぎない。

そんな中、葵の所属していた科学部は廃部が決定。
