  Too much bling...

  I’m not that old (40s), but playing this totally ruins the nostalgia and the calm reflective mental exercise that scrabble is supposed to be about. Underneath all the lights and bling you can still find scrabble and sit down and ponder your next move but once made all sorts of bells, whistles, clangs, pops, lights and buttons go off in an attempt to attract and destroy the minds of younger folk. On top of that there is a never ending push to play, play, play. I don’t need to click any button to indicate I am ready to play. The app is constantly bombarding me with other players having made their move and want to play with me. I have averaged about 6 notifications since I started despite not ever playing more than 2 games at once. It is a constant barrage of pushiness. I think this is the wrong direction for scrabble and for players and kids in general. Too much bling and too hyper for a game that is supposed to be relaxing.

  Terrible

  The single star is for the inclusion of “Scrabble Classic,” without the moronic animations and upselling. The game pushes ads at you after every turn, many of which blast sound, preventing you from playing in public, next to a sleeping spouse, etc. The only way to escape the ads is to pay $70 per year for a subscription, which would almost be worth it if the developers were not messing up the score keeping, losing your games, and selling your data to relentless marketing goblins. This is basically your only option to play Scrabble on your device, and it’s a shame Mattel cares so little about it or its customers.

  Obnoxious

  Please release a normal, quiet, ad-free “Scrabble Classic” edition that makes more sense for your scrabble-enthusiast target demo. Price it for $5 and enough people will buy it. Fire whatever outsourced mobile company that convinced you to squeeze revenue from users through “jewels” or whatever in-app junk you’re trying to sell now—I don’t even know because I do my best to ignore all that stuff anyway, but it isn’t easy.

  disappointed

  I was enjoying the game so much ! I didn’t connect it to facebook because I don't like doing that. And since last 3days the game won't open at all... and I will lose the data if I reinstall! I wish I could have played it a little longer! I must uninstall it ( this is my first ever review:(

  They’ve done their best to ruin scrabble

  You can still play scrabble but you have to put up with a lot of BS. Players can pay to swap coins, which ruins the game for me. There are a lot of bot players and scammers who will promise you romance or to make you rich with Bitcoin. I would be very wary of anyone asking you to join them on google hangouts. Mattel should be ashamed of themselves for teaming up with such a gutter company as Scopely.
