  Be Careful of this app.

  This is a Chinese app and they abuse the refund policy of Apple which is 60 days. If you buy VIP membership at the beginning they will give you more views in the app but after that your account get no views or messages etc. If you contact Apple then they won’t refund because already after 60 days. I bought VIP lifetime and when I complained too much about it to them not giving what they advertise they banned my account and can’t get money back. Also this app is full of psychopaths and not serious learners. I used for 1 year and never met serious exchange partner. Worst purchase and customer experience in my life. Stay away. Update : 2 weeks after they asked me to contact their team after developer response here and still no contact from them. Scammers stay away

  This app DOESNT allow dating and that sucks!

  As paying user, I learned the hard way that is app will not allow dating. Expect temp bans or worse if you try to make relationships. It is disappointing because I was not expecting the app to be like that. This app is a defacto penpals app. This app should be renamed “HelloPenpals” or “DontTalkAboutDating” Also if you choose to become a paid user dont expect a restore purchases button. The only way to know if youre still subscribed is by looking for the tiara next to your name. All in all this app is well built and it has good translation features. It just disappointing how you are forbidden to stray from making any real connections with people. Don’t expect for anyone there to become attached. I guess its my fault for purchasing their most expensive plan but if I could do it all over again I would not have bought a subscription. Basically the TLDR is that this app is a Penpals Only app. No relationships/dating allowed. I give this app zero stars. Its a study with blueballs app. If you get this app expect to be forever alone! be warned!

  Precious account was accidentally deleted.

  Please help my friend and me as soon as possible. My friend has been a member of VIP to study for four years with this app Thousands of moments and tens of thousands of followers disappeared in an instant. My friend is very depressed. She was just learning a language in good faith. So my friend and I have contacted hellotalkteam many times to explain and ask for support, but there are hardly any answers. At least a sincere response is needed.   I’m thinking of stopping this app

  I'm thinking of stopping using HT, because I’m scared of this platform. Sometimes people says stop posting pictures. Sometimes they complain about my jokes not reading my information. And also, the management's response was not what I expected. First, I posted “白馬の王子様はどこ〜？いや、徒歩でもいいよ。” then someone reported it. I know that this is not a place to find romance, so I have been showing “ I have a crush, no romance please!” However, the reporter didn’t read it and reported. The matter is whether I am looking for a boyfriend, right? I didn’t! I admit that that was an appropriate joke. However, I talked about it to the management that they will see that I am a serious learner if they see my other posts, but they ignored my messages and said “Your moments are suspended for a month.” FOR A MONTH!? I pay for this app! It is not an appropriate care for a customer! And, I have some mental illnesses such as Neuropathic pain, so I cannot proceed with my language studies.   Trouble with notifications

  Overall the app seems to be what you might expect. I found some people I could connect well with and we could talk about a wide variety of things. I found some people who I couldn’t really connect with and the conversation died quickly. Overall, most of the functions work well. However, I would frequently get notifications saying someone chatted with me, but I would never actually see what they sent. I tried closing the program and reopening but I still couldn’t see what they wrote. They popped up in notifications but not in my actual chat. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. All of the notifications are still there but all of my conversations disappeared. This whole “you have an unread message from someone, but we won’t show you!” thing was a bit annoying and felt like they were trying to get me to join VIP, though to be fair that may not be the case. I ended up deleting the app.
