Was 5 stars but the kanji writing from hand option is gone
Solid app ,was 5 stars but the kanji writing from hand option is gone. Usually the option doesn't appear on the small floating keyboard, when i full screen the key board then it does appear. Recently though, even that option has mysteriously disappeared. Please look into this. I am on an iPad, solid app other wise. 4 stars as of now, Will update my review back to 5 as soon as the issue is fixed
Extremely helpful
I have been using this dictionary for more than 4 years now and I have not had single experience where the word was not available in the dictionary. We need to be perfect while searching the word but this dictionary covers almost everything from kanji order, JLPT level, proverb, custom lists to flash cards. I will be be forever grateful to the developer of this app. 🙏🏻
Need to personalize flash cards
Amazing app. I am highly impressed by the amount of features and content, particularly the Study functionality. However, in order to properly study, one needs to be able to edit what appears in the flashcard entries, since sometimes the dictionary description as-is is not adequate for flashcards. And for example, I would like to study kanji using the Heisig (RTK) keywords and that is not possible with this app at the moment.
Okay so there were all the settings
I love everything but the settings are too hard to find. I think it will be hard to get a head start and hard for other app or phone users to adapt. There should be a separate button for both settings: the main one and the study list one. For those who can’t find them, The main setting is in search tab, when you slide the empty (or scattering words) space to the right. The settings for studying list is on the progress on top, as explained on the bottom when studying.
Awesome but handwriting option needs improvement
I’ve been using this app for 5 years or so, it’s my go-to JE dictionary app. However, I find the handwriting option to be inaccurate much of the time and have to use the Chinese handwriting keyboard to write the kanji you need. Since you can’t type kanji without knowing the reading, I find this feature very essential and hope it can be improved on. I think the handwriting option was better several years ago but for some reason it’s hardly accurate anymore(?)
