Review
Annoying dictionary app. Adds take over the app and when trying to remove the add by touching the "x" nothing happens, so you need to close the app and reopen. Total waste of time. Don't bother with this app, its garbage.
Definitions don’t work now
In the latest version, 8.3.0.16, you can’t even look up words now — the app just returns a blank white screen. I’m guessing the development team isn’t using any kind of automated testing. Numerous other bugs persist in every version; perhaps the team’s efforts are instead being spent on advancing their political beliefs through words of the day.
Full screen advert with sound and no offline function.
Please kill the full screen adverts. You play sound without even asking now. 0/5 for this app just for that. I don’t wanna delete it yet but I’m looking around for something to replace dictionary.com. You used to have the best dictionary online before. If you trick users into clicking a full screen advert and the advertisers are charged for the click you should have to give the money back to them. I don’t want apps like yours burning up my advertising budget.
The pop-up ads are annoying
A decent app marred by intrusive advertisements. The unskippable video ads (that sometimes play with sound) easily add 5-7 seconds for a single word lookup. Some ads even hide the minimize button, which is pretty infuriating and unprofessional. I appreciate the free app, I’m sure these advertisements are making shareholders money, and I understand that pop-up ads on mobile are becoming an industry norm, but as a user these ads are enough to drive me to using an alternative rather than ponying up cash for an ad free version. The app itself is solid, kudos to the development team.
Fix it ASAP
I love this app, use it frequently and had it for....... more than a decade. Just updated to the latest ver., and no longer usable. It only crashes. FIX THIS ASAP.
